abstract = "The Photochemistry Reflectance Index is an extremely important
remote sensing product in evaluating the spectral behavior of
vegetation, with the potential to evaluate the phytosanitary
conditions of vegetation. Calculated from the relation between the
spectral bands of green and blue and is an indicator of the use
efficiency of photosynthetic radiation in the production process
of photosynthesis. The PRI applies to the estimation of the
photochemical activity of different phytophysiognomies of natural
vegetation cover and different land uses in relation of
agricultural production. In this study, using images from
RapidEyes satellite, aimed to evaluate the photosynthetic activity
of forest areas, grasslands, reforestation and short amount
agriculture by the Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI). The
study was applied in the hydrografic basin of the Una river in
Ibiuna, State of Sao Paulo. The results indicated photochemical
production conditions very similar among the evaluated classes
(forests, passage, agriculture and reforestation). However, the
results of descriptive statistic and histograms, indicated the
forests with the best conditions in photochemical reflectance
(average - 0.51; standard deviation - 0.01; coefficient of
variation - 1.96) and the agriculture showed the lowest production
of photochemical reflectance ( average 0.48; standard deviation
0.02; coefficient of variation 4.16).",
